Tea Time at the Cottage

A tiny package arrives at the door, on a Saturday.
I love tiny packages...especially when I have been anticipating a certain delivery...
of a certain tea...highly recommended by my very new friend..
Suzanne of Privet and Holly...
and the tea is named appropriately, for it has the most lovely fragrance...
Paris...by Harney & Sons...

I was quite in the mood for a lovely tea party for one,
as I had enjoyed the morning hanging our new/old curtains,
found online for a most reasonable price.

I had noticed the intricate laces and designs,
and how beautiful they looked with hydrangeas in the foreground...

I had fluffed the pillows in their new chintz casings,
found in a little shop in England, by the proprietor of a new shop in town,
Kaleidascope....

I was in the mood for a tea party for one...
after hanging my favorite curtain on the beautiful front door...
with its charming door bell...

...and gazing at the piano graced with Blushing Brides ...

and my grandma Effie's table adorned with sweet Annabelles, in a vase given by dear friends for a housewarming gift...

And thinking how lovely this netted confection would look atop my head...

...at a tea party for one.

Perusing a charming publication...

only to find an entire piece regarding the company who made the lovely Paris tea,
which I have just acquired on this day..

So I prepare tea for one....

Curl up in my favorite spot on the comfy sofa....

and enjoy the peaceful music playing, the aroma of a delicious tea, the varying shades of blues and greens in the hydrangeas at my table, the clock ticking....
and I reflect...as one can only reflect when the house is still...
and ponder the love in this home..
the beauty in its gardens...
the potential to grow...as a woman...who has more room to grow...

and I begin...
to think...
of a new journey...
to draw...to create..

Miss Eliza and her adventures at Grammy's House.

and so we begin...
I seek inspiration as I stroll through this cottage garden we are creating...
gazing at the freshly planted roses, and catalina, and phlox, and ivy...

and with a grateful heart, I accept the heavenly nudge of our Maker,
to use, yet another of his wonderful gifts...

May you seek that which has been pushed aside, left in the corners of your past,
that which needs light, and attention,
to bring joy and happiness to those around you
who need joy and beauty in their lives...
especially, if it is just you.
Enjoy a tea party for one...
and listen...
He has so much to tell you.
